I am currently conducting research, with Dr. Jesse Harris at UCLA, on resolving ambiguous elliptical structures in Persian.
I completed a postdoctoral position as a researcher and lecturer in 2020, in the Department of Linguistics at UCLA, where I was employed as Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Postdoctoral Fellow in Iranian Linguistics. In collaboration with Dr. Jesse Harris, I conducted experiments on processing and interpreting elliptical structures in Persian.
I received my Ph.D. in Linguistics from Stony Brook University in 2018. In my dissertation Ellipsis and Information Structure: Evidence from Persian, which was advised by Dr. John Bailyn, I studied various elliptical structures in Persian and provided a unified syntactic analysis on the basis of the interaction between information structure and ellipsis licensing feature bundles.
I received my Masters in Linguistics from California State University, Fresno in 2009 and my Masters in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Tehran University in 2006.
